Personal Experience
Last year, on my 40th birthday, my dear friend Debbie surprised me with the most adorable gift. She meticulously folded dollar bills and colorful paper into flowers and butterflies, creating a delightful money bouquet filled with 40 one-dollar bills. It was the perfect present for my milestone birthday, and I realized it could be an amazing gift for any celebration, such as graduations, bridal showers, and even Christmas gatherings.
How to Make a Money Tree
The first thing you need to know is that although making a money bouquet is relatively simple, it does require some time and effort. So, grab a good show to watch and let’s get started!
Supplies Needed:
- Dollar bills (in any denomination and as many as you’d like)
- Scrapbook paper
- Skewer sticks
- Bucket or decorative pot
- Dry floral foam to fit into the bucket
- Pipe cleaners or wire
- Tape or glue dots
- Embellishments for the center (e.g., small flowers)
- Crinkle paper to fill the bucket
How to Create a Money Bouquet:
To begin, you’ll need to fold your dollar bills. You can refer to a tutorial to learn the folding technique. Keep in mind that you will need three bills to form one flower. The number of flowers you make will depend on the desired bouquet size. (For my bouquet, I made six flowers and six butterflies.)
Once you have folded your flowers, cut scrapbook paper into the same size as a dollar bill. Fold the paper in the same manner and create additional scrapbook paper flowers.
Attach each flower and scrapbook paper flower to a skewer stick using a pipe cleaner. Then, add a charming flower accent to the center.
If you’d like to include butterflies, you can follow a tutorial to create them. For an added touch, attach pipe cleaners to serve as antennae.
The Final Result
Congratulations! Your money bouquet is now complete. Insert the flowers and butterflies into the bucket with the dry floral foam. To enhance its presentation, surround the base with crinkle paper. Isn’t it absolutely adorable? This gift is guaranteed to bring joy to the recipient!
Conclusion
Now that you know how to make a money bouquet, it’s time to put your newfound skills to use! Get creative, have fun, and delight someone with this unique and thoughtful gift. Trust me, they’ll love it!
