As a Product Development Manager at YTTP, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing cutting-edge products.
Drive Product Innovation
As a Product Development Manager, your responsibilities will include product ideation, implementation, and collaboration with external manufacturers to commercialize products. To excel in this role, you should have extensive knowledge and skills in product development, formulation chemistry, and ingredient functionality for various skincare, makeup, hair care, and nutritional products. You will also oversee the development of technology and ingredient formations, leveraging the expertise of vendors and manufacturers to recommend new product innovations.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between internal and external parties to procure new product formulations in compliance with international requirements and regulatory changes.
- Maintain a 3-year revolving Product Launch Calendar, ensuring seamless execution and timely release of new products.
- Generate comprehensive Product Development Profiles for all new products and line extensions.
- Optimize formula portfolios in collaboration with formulators and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMO).
- Identify cost constraints and explore alternative ingredients or suppliers to deliver desired products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Package Development, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Purchasing, and Quality Assurance, to ensure comprehensive formula management.
- Implement project tech transfer for existing R&D formulations.
- Devise internal systems and guidance to improve efficiency without compromising quality and GMPs.
- Adhere to the company’s regulatory requirements for all products.
- Attend trade shows and engage with raw material suppliers to stay updated on industry trends and new technologies.
- Initiate clinical efficacy trials and bulk stability testing to ensure product quality and effectiveness.
- Stay informed about evolving beauty trends and the competitive landscape, with a focus on “Clean” beauty.
- Work independently and collaboratively with the team.
- Manage special product development projects assigned by the supervisor.
What We Require
- Strong knowledge of formula sustainability and trends in the beauty industry, with a commitment to environmental protection.
- Ability to work from the office on a daily basis.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and strong follow-through abilities.
- Proficiency in computer skills, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 30% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- 6+ years of industry experience in Product Development and Management.
- Technical expertise and aesthetic sense for all cosmetic and skincare products.
- Strong vendor relationships.
- Broad knowledge of cosmetic manufacturing, including FDA certification requirements and worldwide regulations.
